Let’s RECAP: WonderWorks Lab at Camp Burlingame!

The last week of summer at Camp Burlingame was unforgettable! Kids had a blast exploring STEM through hands-on projects—building doodling robots, experimenting with telescopes, and launching objects with catapults and air cannons.

Doodling Robots: Exploring Movement and Creativity

With this project, kids discovered how art and science come together. They learned about motion, balance, and creativity while building doodling robots. Powered by a vibrating motor and fitted with colorful pens, the robots created wild, random patterns as they moved across the paper.

Telescopes: Seeing Things From Afar

Learning physics concepts can be simple and exciting! Campers built their own telescopes and experienced the thrill of seeing distant objects come into focus right before their eyes.

Catapults and Air Cannons: Blasting Into Fun

STEM is all about learning through play. With catapults, kids explored how levers work and how forces are transferred. Meanwhile, the air cannons introduced them to the principles of air pressure, blasting lightweight objects across the room in friendly competitions with their peers.
